PASSED SYSTEMS 3!!

I’M CLEARED TO GO FOR NXT SEMESTER

AMEN!

26 Jul 2012

free kaplan nclex practice =)

sorry i’m a little late on this but a friend shared this free kaplan nclex practice live test with me and i took the first one tonight. 50 questions 50 minutes gives you the right answers and a break down of how you did categorically (not answer explanations though and i don’t think you could go back to the questions so i just took a pic of each question so my friends and i could go over them afterwards)

there is another one on aug 2 at 10pm i think

http://www.kaptest.com/enroll/NCLEX/33035/events

(each of those is the same hyperlink btw lol just wanted to reiterate i guess..)

ignore the zip code because it’s not mine so i’d guess it’s the home zipcode of the person who orig posted the link my friend shared

anyways it should work and maybe there are diff dates too but those are the two upcoming that i know about

i almost forgot about it and i entered the room (like a live chat because there are kaplan people there to direct you) late but it didn’t really get started til like 930

study tip!

whoever isn’t in class is possibly screwed because the professor posted no slides and is deviating greatly from the book

this is the main prob when it comes to exams

smh

so many assignments due to be submitted online i just don’t even want to bother

i want this prog to end already

last test went better than the last but about the same as the first..i’m passing again though

didn’t get the greatest grade on the paper i wrote and i really want an A in that class..but there is still hope! i believe

i’ve been zoned out in class lately. no bueno

but i have a new study technique that my bf suggested (oh, i have a bf now yall)

here is how it goes and i found it highly effective

i go through the slides and turn each point into a question that i then answer out loud. i recorded my questions w/o answrs onto my ipod touch (or you can write them) and answered (unrecorded) as i went along then answered again but all at once at the end and then went over the questions again the next day

good for memorization which in this case was impt not because the test is memorization-based but knowing those little pieces helped me to answer questions involving critical thinking involving the BIGGER PICTURE

i change my voice up to so that i get used to hearing it in a certain tone/inflection and in a certain order…i thought that i’d be thrown off later when everything on the test was out of order but i def found myself recalling a lot when discussing it w/ friends and when taking the test!

next time i will start in adv and i believe i will do very well that way. too bad next test is not only new info but old but thts ok!!

i believe

28 May 2012

moments like this i just wanna be like I’M OVER IT FORGET EVERYTHING! lol..but i can’t.

i have soo many meds to look up for my patient tmro =/

and i have soo much to study for my exam wed

it makes me wonder

WTH HAVE I BEEN DOING ALL WKND?!?!

le’sigh

i can’t even stay up that late tonight because i have to be at the hospital at 650am tomorrow and that means i will have only tomorrow after clinicals to study

not to mention we have community clinical and the domestic violence shelter tomorrow night so really i have a few hours here and there to study tomorrow

it will likely be an all-nighter

let me just accept that now

so over studying. hopefully me paying attn in class will have helped. i’m glad it’s summer though because that means frequent exams which means (kind of) less info on each..although we do have a whole 2 lectures to study on our own that were never covered in class but are fair game for the exam

fun right?

:-D

y’all pray to God for me

i shouldn’t complain

i mean i’m used to allnighters and i usually am up even with no reason..and this procrastination thing is def my fault

i also need to find time to work this wk

i need to do better

or graduate

whichever comes first

E. Avoid asking yourself “what if?” or “reading into the question”. Means that you are considering issues beyond information presented in the question. Moves you off track with regards to what the question is asking.
F. Additional tips and strategies
Eliminate options that contain absolute words e.g. all, always, never, none, only
Focus on nursing rather than medical interventions.
Ensure that all parts of an option are correct.
Look for an umbrella option. (more comprehensive answer)

optimism!

i may have gotten a lot of questions wrong on that exam

but i sure am proud of the ones i got right!

:-D

10 Apr 2012

brief update

exam didn’t go as well as i thought it did considering my time spent studying yesterday

actually it went really bad but i still like how confident i felt walking out lol

the little things…

anyways i’m still passing the class! but i really have to put in work for this cumulative final

starting like…today

thank goodness i did pretty well on the first exam someway somehow!

oh the pharm exam went fine though

also praying that I didn’t get a bad grade on the paper i rushed and did in 20 min. i included no works cite or APA cover page but…what the points were really for..all of that was there ;-)

6 Apr 2012

i’m in denial about how much info i have 2 study 4 my exam on Mon. avoiding it

sittin around eatin watchin tv browsin the web… and then prob sending up an emergency prayer Sunday night

i was so proud of myself for starting early by studying the other day…=/

not too late to do better! by tonight i will have finished one of the longer powerpoints.

ok it’s a deal

so over this semester though.

13 Mar 2012

Thankyou, Lord!

So the test went well!

Amen amen amen because I was HARDLY prepared. that was ALL God

that’s all i have to say on that!

12 Mar 2012

just a rant.

been in the library for hours…

can’t say i feel like i’ve accomplished much or really learned anything for this test 2mro

but who knows…maybe

1 more lecture to go before i start over. 102 slides in this one.

wth i know we don’t need to know all those details smh

these teachers need to learn how to CONDENSE!

any time you learn about powerpoint etiquette you learn to not fill it up w/ a whole bunch of words. keeps people from listening…because they can just read. and then they just mindless read and still don’t know what was on the slide.

and i don’t know where all these abbreviations came from

ok there’s my lil rant
