HESI and NCLEX are soon on their way
so the HESI exit exam we must pass to get to our final stage of transition (last half of our final semester where we work the schedule of a nurse we are paired up with in an area of our choosing) is quickly approaching and could stand in the way of graduation
up next would be the NCLEX
i feel like i am slightly in denial about how close these are, and although I’ve read and read and read about how important it is to be continuously doing practice questions from the get-go (the beginning) i know i’ve been slacking
some people are looking for a study course, but in all honesty my friends and i may get together and go over 100s of questions and rationales in a serious group setting and pray that works
we get 3 chances to take this HESI and the last class had a surprising percentage not pass it meaning they had to push back their transition/practicum to the summer (for us it would be to spring) i don’t want to have to prolong this bsn journey!
i can’t remember if we need an 850 or 900 whatever it is it was lowered from last year i believe
i just want to start my final semester, take my hesi, pass it, get to transition (still deciding which area i am choosing for my 8 wk transition..L&D, OR, ER? I say L/D because that could be at either of the hospitals here or one in a nearby city if there’s faculty there and i liked my L/D clinicals and the other hosp uses midwives and has great birthing suites but ok i digress…the other 2 because i like the ER but maybe need to see firsthand what it’s like as a nurse and not a nurse tech..and the OR because i think itd be interesting and i may not apply for an OR job after graduating so this could be my time to explore something i norm wouldn’t), ok so get thru transition and then pass nclex and get a job and get into grad school sometime within 6months to a year (i know i said immediately once or twice before..and i’m not opposed to that…but the nurse who told me i’d be tired and want to take a break after this prog was not too far from right..but the break can’t be too long!)
anyways my friends and i may chip in for a few practice materials
how diff is the hesi from the nclex anyways and is anyone else concerned about their gpa and grad school?
